The animals grave with sacrificial gifts

The young woman snatched from the jaws of death pours powder in the sacrificial bowls

Above the grave the rising star is drawn, as a symbol of new life beyond the grave. When the animals have perished, the young woman will rise from the dead to a new life and the curse will have been lifted

The grave is filled in

The scared animals are covered with a white linen cloth. They try desperately to free themselves, making it look as if a human being was moving beneath the cloth.

A sacrificial liquid is poured over the animals, and powder is scattered over them. Now everything has been prepared and the grave can be closed

The pole and animals are put in the grave

A small black cat is added

The guinea fowl is also tied to the pole

The young woman is cooled with the blood of the guinea fowl; this animal has a special status because it can be both wild and domesticated, and therefore ranks between nature and culture
